Toronto – ­­March 19, 2014 – UFCW Canada members can apply webCampus courses, accredited by Mohawk College, towards a Labour Studies Certificate or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. This unique learning opportunity is the result of a partnership between UFCW Canada and Mohawk College in Hamilton.

webCampus is the most comprehensive, state-of-the-art, online, labour education program in North America — available at no cost to UFCW Canada members, and members of their families. All you need is a computer and access to the internet.

The Labour Studies Certificate focuses on essential skills for union activists, including collective bargaining, steward training, leadership skills, and union counselling. The program is complemented by a research project. The Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety may also include a field placement opportunity, as well as intensive training in major aspects of workplace health and safety. (Currently, these Mohawk College certificate programs are only available in English).
