Retirement home workers at Résidence Marie-Victorin join the union – UFCW 1991-P

Montreal – July 15, 2026 – Retirement home workers at Résidence Marie-Victorin are the newest members of UFCW Local 1991-P after voting YES to joining the union.

Located in Saint-Hubert on Montreal's South Shore, Résidence Marie-Victorin provides housing, nursing care, personal assistance, and mobility support for seniors. The newly organized bargaining unit includes approximately 50 workers in positions such as nursing assistants, nurses, and service assistants.

The workers chose to join UFCW to secure better working conditions, fair wages, and a stronger voice in the workplace. With the support of UFCW Local 1991-P's experienced negotiating team, the new bargaining committee will begin preparing proposals for a first collective agreement.
