Toronto – June 24, 2026 – This Pride season, UFCW members across the country are standing up in support of our 2SLGBTQI+ members, and all 2SLGBTQI+ workers.

An injury to one worker is an injury to all workers. The alarming rise in anti-2SLGBTQI+ hate, emboldened by reckless conservatism both at home and abroad, and amidst global rising tides of fascism and alt-right politicians, makes it clearer than ever that solidarity is needed to fuel the fight back and defend human rights for all.

UFCW OUTreach is a constituency group dedicated to building mutual support between our union’s international, regions, and locals and the Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (2SLGBTQ+) communities and their allies in order to come together to organize for social and economic justice for all, regardless of age, race, gender, creed, colour, immigration status, gender expression, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Join the Trans Canada Tour with Queer Momentum

Support Queer Momentum’s campaign to strengthen the 2SLGBTQI+ advocacy movement in Canada and to respond effectively and communally against hate. Join Queer Momentum and TransAction Alberta for the Trans Canada Tour in a city near you,which are holding a series of events to build connection and foster political action. 

Workers United Against Hate

The Canadian Labour Congress is continuing their campaign to challenge anti-2SLGBTQI+ hate: Workers United Against Hate.  Workers and unions have always understood that the harassment and violence that impact 2SLGBTQI+ workers either on the shop floor and in our communities are trade union issues. As conservative leaders attempt to divide our country by scapegoating 2SLGBTQI+ communities, workers together are proudly uniting against hate.
