Transit workers build better life – UFCW 1006A
Orillia, Ont. – August 14, 2025 – UFCW 1006A members at Tok Transit, who work as transit drivers for the City of Orillia, ratified a new union contract.
Benefits of this six-year contract include wage increases of nearly 30 percent, improvements to uniforms, boot allowance, and more.
“I want to congratulate the negotiating committee and the membership on achieving a fair and strong contract,” said UFCW 1006A President Wayne Hanley. “Union representation is crucial in all sectors, including transit, as it empowers workers with the voice and power to transform their workplace.”
