UFCW OUTreach urges members to support Rainbow Equality this election

Toronto – April 14, 2025 – With a looming Canadian federal election, it is vital to ensure that the next political party which forms government in Canada is one that protects the freedom, equality and human rights of all Canadians. Here is your chance to advocate for 2SLGBTQ+ rights by supporting Momentum’s Rainbow Equality campaign and by taking the pledge on Egale’s Vote With Pride campaign page.
Momentum Canada’s Rainbow Equality campaign is non-partisan and responds to the existential threats to the human rights and equality of Queer people and families. As anti-LGBT groups target trans and Queer people to stoke fear, normalize hate and gain power, it is critical that we continue to speak up in support of human rights and rainbow equality.
Over the last two weeks of March, UFCW OUTreach and UFCW Canada National Council committee members met in the US and Canada to continue developing strategies and our union’s collective response to hate and inequality across Canada. See herefor the latest Statement from UFCW OUTreach.
The pictures below capture support for this campaign from the UFCW OUTreach Executive Board, and the following UFCW Canada National Committees: Political and legislative Action; Indigenous Committee; Human Rights, Equity and Diversity; Education; Workplace Rights, Women & Gender Equity; Young Workers.
