First contract for members at Viandes Seficlo – UFCW 1991P

Montréal – February 5, 2025 – Reunited in an assembly last December 13, the union members working at Viandes Seficlo in Bécancour have ratified a first collective agreement with 96%, conclude in a constructive and respectful environment. Officially signed on December 19, this agreement marks a significative step forward for the approximately 80 members working in the pig’s head processing sector.
Coming into effect at the signing, the members’ collective agreement will last three years and will come to an end on December 18, 2027. Unionized with UFCW Local 1991P since July 10, 2023, the new members now benefit from many significative gains, consolidating thus their working conditions and offering them a better security.
The agreement includes a cumulative salary increase of 18.64% for the duration of the collective agreement. The members will also have access to a dental plan entirely paid for by the employer, improvements to days off with two additional floating days and three sick days, and improved vacations to four weeks after ten years of service and five weeks after twenty-two years of service. Moreover, a bank of excess hours, to a maximum of forty hours, will be introduced. The union members will also have the option to a deduction at source to contribute to the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, to encourage group savings.
