Workers at Hershey join the union – UFCW 1991P
Saint-Hyacinthe, Que. – October 29, 2024 – UFCW Canada Local 1991P is proud to announce that it has obtained union certification to represent the 140 or so workers at the Hersey company in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec.
The employees at the production facility create confectionery products, including chocolate, under the Brookside brand.
The new bargaining unit includes a variety of production-critical roles, including sanitation, day labourer, forklift operator, electromechanics, quality controller, operator, and priority day labourer. Workers in these positions are vital for ensuring product quality and the smooth operation of the company.
