UFCW Women’s Network 15th Biennial Convention powers connections
Costa Mesa, Cal. – May 21, 2024 – Over 300 women and allies from across Canada and the United States recently participated in the UFCW Women’s Network 15th Biennial Convention, held May 15 to 17.
The convention’s theme was the “power of connections” and as participants connected, shared ideas and resources, and worked together to build a stronger union for women and for all workers.
Speakers included British Columbia MLA Katrina Chen, Lorena Gonzales of the California Federation of Labour, Stacey Hofert of Progny, and Rebecca Johnson of Vidl work. Panels included topics such as women in leadership positions sharing insights, voices from equity-deserving groups, leadership in women organizers.
The convention re-elected Deliana Speights as International Chair, UFCW Canada Ontario Regional Director Debora De Angelis (UFCW Canada) as Secretary Treasurer, and Lisa Blackwell Brown as Recorder.
