Food processing members at Sysco Fine Meats build a better life – UFCW 1006A
Vaughan, Ont. – November 10, 2022 – UFCW 1006A members at Sysco Fine Foods are celebrating a new union contract that makes substantial improvements to wages for the lowest paid members, in addition to increasing personal days, bereavement leave and more.
“The negotiating committee made great strides and strong gains on behalf of our members at Sysco Fine Foods,” says UFCW 1006A President Wayne Hanley. “We are proud of the exceptional and tireless work of our committee members in negotiating this tremendous union contract.”
The new contract equalizes wage rates and brings the lowest paid members up to par with their co-workers on date of ratification. Members will also see 9 percent increases to wages over the last three years of the contract, in addition to two paid personal days, more bereavement leave and strengthened language surrounding shift start times.
