Food processing members at Dr. Oetker ratify new contract, end strike
London, Ont. – March 8, 2022 – Members at Dr. Oetker recently ratified a new three-year collective agreement, bringing their strike for better wages and respect on the job to an end.
After taking to the picket line, members increased wages across all classifications by upwards of 50 cents per hour and introduced bonuses of $250 in the final settlement to end the week-long labour dispute.
Members will also see language improvements on paid sick days and paid vacation in the event of layoff, work shortage, or shutdown. Union representation has also been strengthened with new grievance procedure language, monthly steward’s meetings, and a Letter of Understanding between the company and the union to address workplace issues.
