BDM Scholarship helps UFCW 102 member pursue dream career
Niagara Falls, Ont. – February 22, 2019 – UFCW Canada Local 102 member Alicia Evangelisti is one of eighteen winners of the UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship.
Alicia is a hospitality member who works at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Currently completing the Law Clerk Program at Niagara College Canada, Sister Evangelisti had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:
“I am honoured to be a recipient of the UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship. Thanks to the union’s generous support, I am the first in my family to attend college to study law.
This scholarship will help me finish my program and pursue my dream of becoming a law clerk. Eventually I would like to attend law school to become a criminal lawyer. I have a passion for law, and I am so excited to see what my future holds.

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families, and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their families every year, totaling more than $300,000.
The deadline to apply for the BDM scholarship for 2019 is September 30.
