Winnipeg – June 19, 2018 – Justin Berard is one of eighteen UFCW Canada - BDM Scholarship winners for 2017.

Currently attending the University of Winnipeg, Justin is a proud UFCW Canada Local 832 member who works at Real Canadian Superstore.

Brother Berard had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada - BDM Scholarship:

"This scholarship will provide me with the financial freedom to focus on my studies, and attend another year of school, without having to worry about how I am going to pay for tuition. It will also assist me in attaining my educational goals. The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship is not only important to me, but also to many young workers across Canada who are striving to succeed academically. Thank you UFCW Canada!”

Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of 18 union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependents for post-secondary education. The BDM Scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Roméo Mathieu.
