My webCampus Experience: Media & Communications Certificate
Toronto – May 2, 2017 – UFCW Canada members from across the country are raving about the union's groundbreaking online education program, webCampus, which offers free online courses to all UFCW Canada members, their families, and our community partners.
Many UFCW Canada members take webCampus courses out of personal interest, while others see them as a way to develop their knowledge and professional skills.
The Media & Communications Certificate program is particularly popular among webCampus participants. From multimedia to web design to communication skills, the Media & Communications Certificate program provides students with the tools needed to market and communicate within their union, as well as the private and non-profit sectors. Participants may also use the program as a springboard to further their education in the communications field.
Jon Stephens, a proud UFCW Canada Local 1006A member who works at a No Frills store in Thunder Bay, Ontario, had the following to say about his experience completing the webCampus Media & Communications Certificate program:
“Working at my own pace, it took me roughly a year to complete the webCampus Media & Communications Certificate program, but I now feel a great sense of accomplishment. With this certificate, I have the tools needed to become a more effective communicator. This certificate may also lead to other opportunities, like taking more webCampus courses or maybe even going to college. The sky is the limit for me. If you think you can’t complete this certificate, you can! The instructors are really helpful and the courses are designed so that you can learn at your pace. I encourage anyone thinking about taking the webCampus Media & Communications Certificate to go for it! You will be surprised at what you can do with this certificate.”
