webCampus Spotlight: Doreen Liese

I first signed up for courses in March of 2010. Since that time I've taken over 20 courses while continuing to work full-time.

What I have really appreciated about this great opportunity provided by our Union is the wide range of courses offered. The courses range from work-related to personal interest.

For example, I've taken the Ergonomics: Injuries, Risk Factors and Design Principles; The Office Work Environment and Lighting Hazards; Fear & Intimidation – all of which were very informative.

I have also taken some Union-related courses, like the Introduction to the Union & Stewardship and Preparing for Arbitration. However, I would have to say that I have enjoyed the personal interest courses the most. I've taken Digital Cameras, Digital Photography, Floral Design, Retirement and Pension Planning, Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 and Microsoft Excel 2007. I'm currently taking the Windows Movie Maker course.

webCampus is there for you when you take courses. If you have a question you can email, ask in the chat room, or post it on the forum. I have always received a quick response to my questions.

When you successfully complete a course you receive a certificate – which just might be beneficial on a resume some day!

The Union offers a wide range of courses (I've mentioned only a few above); and it’s completely free to members and our families.  This is an opportunity no one should pass up.

Thanks webCampus!
