Toronto – March 7, 2016 – UFCW Canada members from across the country are raving about the union's groundbreaking online education program, webCampus, which offers free online courses to all UFCW Canada members, their families, and community partners.
Many UFCW Canada members take webCampus courses out of personal interest, while others see them as a way to develop their knowledge and professional skills.
webCampus participants from across Canada had the following to say about their experiences taking various courses through the program over the last few months:
Pharmacy Assistant – Part 2 (Skills Development)
"This course is very informative and helpful. Having a full-time job and being a single mother doesn't leave much time to attend school, so it is nice to be able to work on this program at my own pace and convenience."
– Meghan Tailon, UFCW Canada Local 175 member
Floral Design – Part 3 (Skills Development)
"I have thoroughly enjoyed all three Floral Design courses, especially Part 3. The courses have taught me how to create something fresh and exciting every time I make a floral arrangement, and I am doing it with speed thanks to the helpful hints they give. Speed where we work is so very important, as well as having new ideas. And now that I have completed the courses, I'm enjoying my job more because I feel like I have more to offer to customers. The Floral Design courses are truly wonderful. Thank you UFCW."

Financial Basics for Non-Financial People and Money Skills (Personal Development)
"Taking this course in conjunction with Money Skills was a great learning experience for me. I'm glad I took Money Skills first because the Financial Basics course touched on some material that was covered already. It was a good opportunity to reinforce what I had learned before.
Now that we're in a new year, I'm hoping I can develop a better understanding of my own financial situation going forward. Thank you for putting these courses together. They have a made a positive impact on my life!"
– Leslie Cayetano, UFCW Canada Local 832 member
Investigations (Labour Studies)
"This course not only helps new stewards develop skills to perform workplace investigations, it also benefits older stewards. Sometimes you can become complacent with your skills, but going through this course can give you a fresh perspective on stewarding."
– Juanita O'Reilly, UFCW Canada Local 1252 member
Computers & Technology courses
"The Computers & Technology courses really helped to expand my knowledge of computers, and I am very happy that I took these courses. Thank you for offering them."
