Vancouver – November 2, 2017 – UFCW Canada activists recently participated in the Canadian Professional Association for Transgender Health’s Biennial Conference and Annual General Meeting, held in Vancouver from October 26 to 29.
Toronto – October 27, 2017 – Recently released Census of Population data from Statistics Canada shows that Canada is more diverse than ever, with over one-fifth of Canadians identifying as immigrants – the highest share in 85 years.
Toronto – October 19, 2017 – UFCW Canada activists recently took to the streets of Toronto to join over 6,000 activists for a march and rally to denounce hate and bigotry in Canada and across the globe.
Rapid Lake, Que. – October 2, 2017 – On September 28, UFCW Canada activists joined Indigenous leaders and volunteers from I Love First Peoples for a celebration of the students at Kitiganik School in Rapid Lakes, Quebec, who recently created Traditional Territory Plaques to honour the ancestral lands on which UFCW Canada Local Union offices are located.
Las Vegas, Nevada – September 25, 2017 – Hundreds of UFCW activists and allies from across Canada and the United States recently gathered in Las Vegas for the 2017 United Latinos Educational Conference, where participants shared ideas and strategies on how to empower Latino workers and build Latino pride within UFCW and the North American labour movement.
