webCampus launches new courses in AprilToronto – March 30, 2014 – UFCW Canada’s groundbreaking online education program, webCampus, is launching two new courses for the month of April. The free online courses are being offered from March 31st to April 25th and are available to all UFCW Canada members and their families, as well as our community partners. The course descriptions can be found below.


Understanding Political Campaigns – English ONLY

March 31 – April 28, 2014

We live in a democracy where each citizen has a say in how this country will be run – it’s called a vote. However, there has been a building momentum around the idea that voting doesn’t make a difference. Sadly, too many Canadians believe this. As a nation, low voter turnouts also tend to see Conservative governments elected with subsequent laws that reduces taxes for the richest and cuts services to average Canadians. Awakening Canadians to a reality that they can determine the type of Canada we live in often happens during election campaigns.

Communicating in Tough Moments – New in French

March 31 – April 28, 2014

“We all experience tough moments in life, and good communication is the key to getting through and resolving the challenges we face during difficult periods,” says Marv Funk, UFCW Canada Training & Education coordinator.  

The objectives of the course are to improve our ability to communicate during tough moments by discussing what makes moments difficult and offering some helpful conflict resolution approaches.
