2013 UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship Winner: Gabriel-Kani Houin-Létourneau, Local 500

Lachine, Que. – March 1, 2014 – UFCW Canada Local 500 (TUAC 500) is proud to announce that Gabriel-Kani Houin-Létourneau, who works at the IGA Extra Marché J.E.V. in Lachine, Quebec, has won a 2013 UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship.

When he is not working at the supermarket, Gabriel-Kani studies humanities and social sciences at the Cégep André-Laurendeau in La Salle, Quebec. Brother Houin-Létourneau is pictured here receiving the union scholarship from Local 500 Union Representative Vincent Dion.

Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of eighteen union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependants for post-secondary education.
