Recycling workers at Ecycle Solutions in B.C. join the union, UFCW 1518

Chilliwack, B.C. – October 16, 2013 – Ecycle Solutions employees in Chilliwack, B.C. recently voted in strong favor of joining UFCW Local 1518.  Ecycle Solutions recycles and warehouses electronic recyclables from across B.C.  Electronic waste is the fastest growing type of waste in landfills, and these workers are an important part of reducing this impact and recycling these products.

“We are very happy to hear that the members at Ecycle Solutions have voted to join UFCW 1518,” says Local 1518 President Ivan Limpright. “UFCW 1518 represents thousands of members in the warehousing and industrial sector, and as an organization, we work every day to ensure safety and fairness in our members’ workplaces, and look forward to providing this representation to our newest members.”

The Union anticipates that we will receive the official certification from the Labour Board this week, and will begin the process to commence bargaining.
