UFCW Canada launches new child care campaign tools

campaign ufcw canada take action on child care

Toronto - September 16, 2013 - As Canada's leading voice for working families, UFCW Canada has launched Take Action on Child Care: a new toolkit and resources to campaign for a quality, affordable, national child care system.

Right now, the lack of a national child care policy and plan means thousands of parents across the country, including UFCW Canada members, continue to have a very difficult time in finding – and paying for – quality child care. Parents who work irregular shifts or who live in rural areas face even greater challenges.  In fact, right now there is only one space of quality child care available for every five children in Canada who need one.

Take Action on Child Care provides downloadable facts sheets, lobbying materials, as well as a Kitchen Table Conversation Guide to help build solidarity with your friends, neighbours and family members to campaign, between and during elections, for an accessible and affordable quality child care system.

Through the Take Action on Child Care campaign page, you can also send your message to Stephen Harper that quality affordable child care must be on the agenda.

Join the campaign to Take Action on Child Care, and share the link with friends, family and other members of our social network.
