Saskatoon – June 27, 2013 – The rain couldn't dampen the spirits of UFCW Canada Local 1400 activists who joined in full force with more than 1,000 other participants recently for the Saskatoon PRIDE Parade to take a stand for LGBT rights and equality. The Pride Parade culminated a week-long festival of performances, film screenings, workshops, community fair.

“The Saskatoon Pride Parade and Pride Week are great events to celebrate the diversity within our community and within our great union,” says UFCW Canada Local 1400 President Norm Neault. “As a progressive and welcoming organization, and as the largest private-sector Local Union in Saskatchewan, we are proud to stand with our gay, lesbian, bi and transsexual brothers and sisters for workplace and community equality."

This year Saskatoon's Pride celebrations marked their 20th Anniversary. Find out more about other upcoming Pride Week events across Canada.
