Workers at Conteneur Recycle inc. join the union, UFCW Local 501

Montreal – April 20, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local 501 is welcoming a new group of recycling workers, who recently said “Yes!” to joining the union, and to combining their voices with more than 50,000 workers in Quebec, and more than 250,000 across the country, as proud UFCW Canada members.

The new Local 501 members are employees of Conteneur Recycle, which provides container services in the St-Félix-de-Valois region.

“We are proud to welcome the employees of Conteneur Recycle inc. to the UFCW family,” says Local 501 President Alain Lachaîne. “By joining the union – and uniting their voices with UFCW members across Quebec, and throughout North America – the new Conteneur Recycle workers are now in a stronger position to bargain for better standards at worker, and create more fairness in their communities.”
