Recreation members at Lac-de-la-Boiteuse ZEC build a better life – UFCW 501
Montreal – July 20, 2020 — UFCW Local 501 members working as park guardians in the Lac-de-la-Boiteuse ZEC territory have achieved a new collective agreement that provides wage gains and more.
The terms of the new four-year contract were unanimously adopted at a ratification meeting held on May 15. In addition to maintaining the gains made by union members, the new collective agreement provides a 23 percent salary increase in the first year and a 2 percent increase for the following three years. Other gains include an increase in the protection assistant premium of $0.50 per hour and the addition of one week of vacation after 20 years of service.
"The employees of the Lac-de-la-Boiteuse ZEC territory continue to improve their working conditions and build a better life at work,” says Daniel Nadeau, UFCW 501 Eastern Quebec Director. “We are proud of the trust they have placed in us to represent them in the workplace. Congratulations to all members and everyone involved in these negotiations,” he adds.
