Communications workers at Point Blank Creative join the union – UFCW 1518
Vancouver – June 12, 2020 – Communications workers at Point Blank Creative are the newest members of UFCW 1518 after voting unanimously to join the union.
Staff at the company’s B.C. office, located in downtown Vancouver, made history with their union drive by participating in the province’s first fully digital union certification vote.
“This is a huge step forward for the labour movement as electronic certification votes can help bring the benefits of unionization to more workers,” says UFCW 1518 President Kim Novak. “We are thrilled to welcome the super talented workers at Point Blank Creative to our great union, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts to make electronic certification voting a reality,” she adds.
Workers at Point Blank Creative design digital and organizing campaigns to build and support progressive movements. Some of the clients they have partnered with include the Canadian Labour Congress, the David Suzuki Foundation, Oxfam Canada, the federal New Democratic Party (NDP), and several labour unions, including UFCW Local 832.
