Firefighters in Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard build a better life – UFCW 501

Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard, Que. – September 16, 2019 – Firefighters in the municipality of Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard, Quebec, who are proud members of UFCW Canada Local 501, have achieved a new union contract that provides wage increases and minimum hours of work.

The new collective agreement runs until December 2023 and provides retroactive wage increases of 11 percent over five years, a minimum of three paid hours per call, and higher meal allowances.

“We are very happy with the outcome of these negotiations,” says Alain Lachaîne, President of UFCW Local 501. “The new contract for the firefighters in Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard not only reflects both parties’ interests, but also respects taxpayers,” he adds.
