Calèches Québec coach drivers achieve new contract – UFCW 501

Québec City – August 12, 2019 – UFCW 501 members working as coach drivers at Calèches Québec have returned to work after ratifying a new contract reached before a conciliator. The new collective agreement put an end to a lockout which began last June 18, 2018.  The horse-and-carriage coach drivers returned to work on August 3rd.

The terms of the new contract include a 25% wage increase. In addition, the per-ride premium for coach rides will increase from $5.50 to $6.50 for 35-minute rides, and from $5.50 to $14 for two-hour rides. Three members who had been dismissed were also be reinstated as part of the settlement.
