webCampus Spotlight: Fabrice Musafiri

Mississauga, Ont. – January 30, 2013 – webCampus, North America’s leading labour education program, is proud to work in partnership with community organizations such as Peel Multicultural Council, Immigrant Workers Centre, Mennonite New Life Centre, Worker Action Centre, Agriculture Workers Alliance, and Migrante Canada.

Together with leading community groups, webCampus assists many new Canadians and migrant workers in adjusting to their new lives in Canada by offering courses that expand workplace skills and discuss important subject areas like democracy, politics, history, health and safety, information technology, women’s issues and labour rights.

Fabrice Musafiri, who accesses webCampus through the Peel Multicultural Council, writes:

“What I can share as a newcomer is that the courses helped me get the knowledge of the Canadian sales and marketing strategies and gained confidence through learning different aspects of Canadian business.

webCampus is UFCW Canada’s groundbreaking, state-of-the-art, interactive online training and education resource that provides UFCW Canada members and their families access to free online courses.

Offered 24 hours a day, webCampus includes more than 100 free online courses from basic computer skills, to job specific skills, to union history, to Microsoft Excel and dozens more.

Working in partnership with Mohawk College, webCampus also offers UFCW Canada members and their families the opportunity to earn college credits in a number of post-secondary certificate programs, including accredited college certificates in Labour Studies and Labour Studies in Occupational Health and Safety.
