Food workers at CLS Catering win major gains – UFCW 175

Mississauga, Ont. – January 12, 2019 – New UFCW 175 members at CLS Catering in Mississauga, Ontario have achieved major gains by joining the union. The group of food workers join 300 other UFCW 175 members who were already part of the bargaining unit.

Now that they have joined the union, the new CLS members will receive hourly pay, including overtime; employer contributions to a registered retirement savings plan (RRSP); and a percentage pay for their vacation entitlement.

In addition, all lieu time accumulated prior to joining the union will be paid out in a lump sum payment with a 15 percent top up. As well, RRSP and vision care coverage negotiated in the contract for existing employees will be extended to the new members.
