Equal Pay for Equal Work language among gains in new Gumpert’s contract
Mississauga, Ont. – August 11, 2018 – UFCW Local 175 food processing members recently ratified a new union contract with Gumpert’s bakery supply in Mississauga, Ontario.
The Gumpert’s members, who make private-label baked goods for various Canadian brands, will see a number of improvements and bonuses as part of their new UFCW contract, including:

Lump sum payments of $400 in the first year, with $300 as of ratification and $100 by the end of January 2019

Wage rate increase across the board by 20 cents per hour in July 2019, and another 50 cents per hour on June 30, 2020

Employer contribution of $1,000 per year toward the UFCW Local 175 Training & Education Fund

Jury duty and/or court witness paid leave
The new union contract also achieves contract language improvements, including the enshrinement of Equal Pay for Equal Work.
