UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winner: Anne-Sophie Blais, UFCW 500

Shawinigan-Sud, Que. – July 18, 2018 – Anne-Sophie Blais is one of eighteen UFCW Canada - BDM Scholarship winners for 2017.

Currently completing the Prehospital Emergency Care program at Collège Shawinigan, Anne-Sophie is a proud UFCW Canada Local 500 member who works at Metro Plus.

Sister Blais had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada - BDM Scholarship:

"This scholarship will help cover my education costs and ensure that I can get the materials I need to enhance my learning experience. I am currently studying pre-hospital emergency care with the goal of becoming a paramedic and working for Airmédic. The BDM Scholarship puts me one step closer to achieving that goal. I would like to thank UFCW Canada for this amazing opportunity!”

Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of 18 union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependents for post-secondary education. The BDM Scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Roméo Mathieu.
