Moncton, N.B. – May 19, 2018 – Cole Estabrooks is one of eighteen UFCW Canada - BDM Scholarship winners for 2017.
Currently enrolled in the Kinesiology program at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Cole is the son of Todd Estabrooks, a proud UFCW Canada Local 1288P member who works at Coca-Cola in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Cole had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada - BDM Scholarship:
"This scholarship is very important to me, and I believe it will provide me with further motivation to succeed academically. It will also be a huge help in funding my education. I am extremely grateful that UFCW Canada has chosen me as a recipient of the BDM Scholarship. The money will be put to good use as I continue my journey here at Acadia University, not only as a student but also as an athlete on the school football team. With the stress that academics and athletics put on me, it is encouraging to know that UFCW believes in what I am doing here.”
Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of 18 union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependents for post-secondary education. The BDM Scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Roméo Mathieu.
The deadline to apply for the 2018 UFCW Canada - BDM Scholarship is September 30, 2018. To find out more about this renowned union scholarship, or to apply online, click here.
