Guards across Ontario secure a better future with UFCW 333

Guards across Ontario secure a better future with UFCW 333Richmond Hill, Ont. – March 28, 2018 – Over 250 security guards working at Condor, Primary Response, VP Protection, and ASP Security locations across Ontario are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 333 after recently voting to join the union.

The security workers joined UFCW 333 as part of the Local Union’s “Security for Security Guards” campaign, which invites security guards to build a better life for themselves and their families by joining the union and gaining a strong voice at work.

The campaign was launched by UFCW Canada Local 333 after the Ontario government passed card check certification legislation for the province’s security industry. Under card check, the union is certified as the official bargaining agent for a workplace when a majority of employees sign union cards.

According to UFCW 333 Organizer Geoff Gosselin, workers at Condor, Primary Response, VP Protection, and ASP Security have joined the union to obtain better wages and benefits, respect on the job, fairness in scheduling, and improved job security, among other reasons.

“By choosing the leading Security Guard Union as their voice in the workplace, security guards across Ontario are gaining better working conditions and a strong voice on the job,” says Gosselin. “We look forward to welcoming more workers to our great union as we continue advancing the ‘Security for Security Guards’ campaign,” he adds.

UFCW Canada Local 333 is Ontario’s leading Security Guard Union, representing thousands of workers in the security industry throughout the entire province. To learn more about UFCW 333, visit their website.
