Members at Agropur ratify new agreement – UFCW 832

Winnipeg – February 23, 2018 – UFCW Canada Local 832 members working at Agropur in Winnipeg, Manitoba have ratified a new five-year collective agreement that provides wage increases, benefit improvements, and more.

The Agropur members produce Lucerne milk and cream products for Safeway, Sobeys, and Tim Hortons locations. They work in every aspect of production, from filling milk jugs to pasteurizing milk to collecting milk from dairy farmers.

As part of the new contract, members will see their wages increase by 9.5 percent, with the first increment retroactive to July 16, 2016. On top of this, workers in the dual ticket maintenance classification will receive $2.55 per hour more over the life of the agreement.

Other monetary gains include better dental benefits and upgrades to the health and welfare plan. The new agreement also contains improvements to bereavement leave and the meal allowance.
