Members at Metro Bruyère achieve new contract – UFCW 500

Montreal – February 17, 2018 – UFCW Canada Local 500 members working at the Metro Bruyère supermarket in Montreal have recently ratified a new collective agreement.

The new six-year contract includes wage increases of 2% for every 650 hours worked. As well, whenever there is a rise to the minimum wage, workers at the beginning of the pay scale will receive wage increases between $0.25 and $2.50 per hour worked depending on their classification. Workers at the top end of the scale will receive a hybrid combination of wage increases and lump sum payments based on their classification.

Other improvements include the creation of 11 additional full-time positions with paid casual leave days.

Also included in the new contract are:
