Workers at Red Lobster join the union – UFCW 1006A Burlington, Ont. – January 2, 2018 – Workers at the Red Lobster in Burlington, Ontario are the newest members of UFCW Local 1006A after recently voting to join the union.

The 60 members work as servers, hosts, cooks, and bartenders at the popular seafood restaurant.

Workers joined UFCW 1006A to gain a strong voice at work on issues such as scheduling, vacation, sick days, and tip payout.

“We continue to see strong interest from restaurant and hospitality workers looking to join our union,” says UFCW Canada Local 1006A President Wayne Hanley. “Having joined the leading union for restaurant workers in Ontario, the members at Red Lobster can count on Local 1006A for fairness and a voice on the job,” Brother Hanley adds.
