Toronto – October 21, 2017 – UFCW Canada's ground-breaking online education program, webCampus, is launching a brand new course for the month of November.

The free online course is being offered in English from November 1 to 27 and is available to all UFCW Canada members and their family, as well as our community partners.

The new course is described as follows:

Mental Health Matters: Focus on the Workplace

In the workplace, attitudes toward mental health and mental illness make a big difference for all employees, especially for those experiencing mental health issues. There is a stigma surrounding mental health. Most often, this leads to inaccurate and hurtful stereotypes. The shame and isolation associated with these inaccurate assumptions prevent people from seeking the help necessary to live healthy and full lives. In this module, we further our learning of mental health by exploring the various aspects of the 'real threats' of mental illness, and the effects it has on the lives of those affected.

This course is the second in the Mental Health Matters series from webCampus. This series aims to educate participants about mental health and remove the stigmas surrounding various mental illnesses. Completion of the Mental Health Matters: The Mental Health Disconnect course is not required.

Registration for the "Mental Health Matters: Focus on the Workplace" course is now open. To register for this free online course, and to learn more about the webCampus program and to browse other available courses, click here.
