Members at Reh-Fit ratify new deal – UFCW 832

Winnipeg – September 29, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 832 members working at the Reh-Fit Fitness Centre in Winnipeg have unanimously ratified a new two-year contract.

The Reh-Fit Fitness Centre is Canada's first certified medical fitness facility. It provides a variety of innovative health enhancement programs, including cardiac rehabilitation, weight management, personal training, and specialty fitness programs.

As per the new agreement, wages will improve by two percent in each year of the contract and maintenance employees will receive an additional 6.4 percent increase in the form of a wage adjustment.

Besides monetary increases, the new contract includes improvements to bereavement leave times, better employer supplied equipment, and improved contract language.

As well, members hired after the ratification of the last collective agreement will receive a 24-month extension to earn their Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) certification, with the employer paying half of the cost and providing an interest-free loan with a low payroll installment.
