UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winner: Jean Bélanger

Saint-Ludger de Beauce, Qué. – August 9, 2017 – Jean Bélanger is one of eighteen UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winners for 2016.

Jean is currently completing his Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières campus. His father, Luc Bélanger, is a proud UFCW Canada Local 501 member who works at Groupe Canam in Saint-Gédéon-de-Beauce, Québec.

Brother Bélanger had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:

“I am very happy and grateful to be a recipient of this scholarship. It will allow me to focus on my studies now that I have fewer financial concerns. And since I am studying finance, you can guarantee that this money will not go to waste! I plan to use the scholarship to pay my registration fees and purchase the books that are required for my courses. Thank you UFCW Canada for your amazing support!” 

Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of 18 union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependants for post-secondary education. The BDM Scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Romeo Mathieu.
