Members at Brewers' Distributor Ltd. achieve new contract – UFCW 832

Winnipeg – June 22, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 832 members working at the Brewers' Distributor Ltd. warehouse in Winnipeg, Manitoba have ratified a new collective agreement.

Brewers' Distributor Ltd., a private company, is the largest beer warehousing and distribution network in Western Canada.

Highlights of the new five-year agreement include wage increases totalling up to 10% for seasonal part-time workers and 4.5% for core employees, with wages for the latter reaching over $30 per hour over the contract's duration. In addition, members will also receive a signing bonus ranging from $500 to $750.

The new contract also features increases to health and welfare benefits as well as the introduction of a new wellness program for seasonal part-time employees with three or more years of service. The negotiating committee was also able to retain the defined benefit pension plan for core employees.
