Deadline for $8,000 UFCW Charity Foundation Scholarship is May 8

Washington, D.C. – May 3, 2017 – Attention all UFCW Canada members and family members who are enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program: the deadline for the UFCW Charity Foundation Scholarship is Monday, May 8, 2017.

Every year, the union awards the Charity Foundation Scholarship to UFCW members and their unmarried dependents who are enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program. One Canadian member will be among those selected, with a prize of $8,000 paid out in $2,000 increments every year for up to four years of qualifying post-secondary education. 

The UFCW Charity Foundation Scholarship winners will be selected on the basis of their scholastic achievements, community involvement, and the completion of an essay discussing the principles of the labour movement.
