UBC Okanagan Aramark members ratify new deal – UFCW 247Kelowna, B.C. – November 16, 2016 – UFCW Canada Local 247 members working for Aramark food services at the University of British Columbia (UBC) - Okanagan campus in Kelowna, British Columbia have recently ratified a new collective agreement.

The new four-year deal brings a number of gains including full retroactive pay to June 2015, wage scale increases, vacation pay and time increases. Members will also receive monetary benefit supplements and the new contract also includes language changes to secure improved working conditions.

UBC Okanagan Aramark members work around campus including at two cafeterias, as well as at Aramark-operated franchises in the UBC Okanagan food court including Booster Juice, Starbucks, and Tim Hortons. This is the second collective agreement for members at UBC Okanagan since joining the union in 2010.
