UFCW activists Light the Night in Montreal

Montreal – October 20, 2016 – UFCW Canada activists and family members from the Montreal area joined thousands of other participants in Jean-Drapeau Park for the 12^th Annual Light the Night walk in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).

Over $1.1 million was raised through the Montreal event on October 15, thanks to the combined efforts of all LLSC partners – including UFCW Canada Local Unions and members in Quebec.

Like many Canadian families, blood cancers have also affected UFCW members and activists over the years. Thanks to drug research and development, many now lead normal lives today. By supporting the LLSC, we are allies in the fight against all blood cancers.

As individuals and collectively, we cannot remain indifferent to these dreaded diseases that impact thousands of families every year. That is why UFCW Canada family continues to be the leading annual single source of fundraising for the LLSC’s life changing work to raise awareness and develop better treatments to stop blood cancers. Together, we are all part of the cure!
