UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winner: Brody Osadick, UFCW 832Winnipeg – September 10, 2016 – Brody Osadick is one of eighteen UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winners for 2015.

Currently enrolled in the Recreation Management program at the University of Manitoba, Brody is a proud UFCW Canada Local 832 member who works at the Extra Foods grocery store on St. Anne’s Road in Winnipeg.

Brother Osadick had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:

“I am honoured to be a recipient of this scholarship, and I would like to thank UFCW Canada for helping to support my education.

Upon graduating from my program, my hope is to work in a recreational or sporting organization to help disadvantaged families and to positively impact community development.

Winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship has inspired me to work even harder on my education in order to fulfill my career goals. I come from a hard-working family and my parents have always taught me that, to succeed in life, one must always work hard, be honest, and have compassion for others. And if you do that, there is nothing you can’t accomplish in life. I believe this scholarship is the beginning of what my hard work can and will accomplish.

Once again, I would like to thank UFCW Canada for awarding me this scholarship.”

Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of 18 union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependants for post-secondary education. The BDM scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Romeo Mathieu.

The deadline to apply for the 2016 UFCW Canada - BDM Scholarship is September 30, 2016. To find out more about this renowned union scholarship, or to apply online, click here.
