Members at Shoppers Wholesale Food in Prince George achieve new contract – UFCW 1518

Prince George, B.C. – September 9, 2016 – UFCW Canada Local 1518 members at Shoppers Wholesale Food in Prince George have ratified a new two-year collective agreement.

While the employer came to the table looking for no changes to the agreement, the committee was still able to negotiate substantial wage increases.

Some of the highlights include:

• $0.75 in year one and $0.75 in year two;

• $250.00 signing bonus for all employees who have worked since the expiry in May;

• Employer will pay for medical notes;

• Formation of Troubleshooter language.

Bargaining committee members included Kelly Peck and Larry Lavalle, and union representative Jason Frank.
