Toronto – August 12, 2016 – UFCW Canada activists joined CUPW members and other labour allies at a rally in front of federal Minister of Finance Bill Morneau's Toronto office, where postal workers and allies gathered to demand that Canada Post return to the bargaining table. Activists also joined in the call for the restoration of full door-to-door delivery.

Since the beginning of the year, CUPW members at Canada Post have been without a contract and have been involved in stalled negotiations over a number of issues including job security, equal pay for rural and suburban postal workers, and employer demands for pension plan concessions.

"UFCW Canada members stand in full solidarity with our CUPW sisters and brothers," says UFCW Canada National President Paul Meinema. "We all need to join in the call to ensure that Canada Post returns to the bargaining table and starts negotiating a fair contract."
