UFCW Canada stands in solidarity with Fort McMurray community

Fort McMurray, Alta. – May 4, 2016 – On behalf of UFCW Canada’s 250,000 members, many of whom live and work in Fort McMurray and the Wood Buffalo Region, our hearts are with those who have been affected by the devastating wildfire that is sweeping through the community.

We stand shoulder to shoulder with our brothers and sisters in Fort McMurray, and we are hopeful that the fire will be abated quickly so that the recovery process can begin as soon as possible. In the meantime, I would ask everyone in the area to please stay safe, as the community and allies work in solidarity to overcome this terrible tragedy in the days and weeks ahead.
