Workers at Granny's Poultry ratify new deal – UFCW 832Winnipeg – May 3, 2016 – UFCW Canada Local 832 members working at Granny's Poultry Cooperative have overwhelmingly ratified a new deal that brings improvements to wages and contract language.

Granny's Poultry has been in business for over 50 years and is the largest poultry producer in Manitoba –  producing over 48 million kilograms of chicken and turkey annually. 

The five-year deal brings improvements to job posting language, meal allowances, and increases to evening, night and weekend premiums. The contract also brings improved tool and safety boot allowances.

Workers at Granny's Poultry will see increases in wages of 2% in years one and two; 2.25% in years three and four; and 2.5% in year five. Maintenance workers will receive increases in wages of 9% in year one, and 2.25% in years two, three, four and five. The new contract runs 2021.
