Members at North Battleford No Frills achieve new contract – UFCW 1400North Battleford, Sask. – April 23, 2016 – UFCW Canada Local 1400 members working at the North Battleford No Frills store have recently ratified a new agreement that brings improved contract language, benefits, and wages.

The new five-year agreement provides increases of 25 cents and 30 cents per hour in years 1, 3, 4, and 5 of the contract with a lump sum payment in year 2. In addition to wage increases, a new wage grid provides for a built-in minimum wage guarantee. From now on, all wages will be above the minimum wage.

The contract also features added language that grants Local 1400 representatives more access to members at the store and an up-to-date discrimination clause that prohibits discrimination due to union activity.

In addition, all part-time employees will now be eligible for the UFCW 1400 Health and Welfare Benefit Plan, which covers prescription drug costs, paramedical services, and vision care. Part-timers will also be entitled to dental benefits under the UFCW 1400 Dental Plan.

The new contract will come into effect in September 2016 and will run until February 2021.
