Workers at The Keg Steakhouse & Bar join the union – UFCW 206Barrie, Ont. – January 6, 2016 – Workers at The Keg Steakhouse & Bar in Barrie, Ontario are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 206 after voting to join the union last month.

The Keg members work as kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, and hostesses for one of the most popular restaurant chains in Canada. They joined the union to obtain better scheduling, job security, improved wages and benefits, and fairness on the job.

The Keg workers join many other UFCW Canada Local 206 members who work in the restaurant industry, including members at various Swiss Chalet locations throughout Ontario and food service workers at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

"I would like to congratulate and welcome the new members at The Keg Steakhouse & Bar," says UFCW Canada Local 206 President Wayne Hanley. "By adding their voice to UFCW, the Keg members will be able to improve their working conditions and achieve a better quality of life, and we look forward to bargaining on their behalf," Brother Hanley adds.
