UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winner: Sophie Bouchard, UFCW 501Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, Qué. – January 5, 2016 – Sophie Bouchard is one of eighteen UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winners for 2015 (to apply for the 2016 UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship, click here).

Currently in her first year of the Natural Sciences program at Cégep Limoilou in Québec City, Sophie is a proud UFCW Canada Local 501 member who works at the Super C grocery store in Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, Québec.

Sister Bouchard had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:

"I would like to thank UFCW Canada for awarding me this scholarship. It will be very useful as I still have several years of studying ahead of me. It is nice to know that I have this financial support to continue my studies in an area that I am passionate about. I am really glad that I applied for the 2015 UFCW Canada BDM Scholarship, and that I was selected as a recipient!"

Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of eighteen union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependants for post-secondary education. The BDM scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Romeo Mathieu.
